Terms of Service and Learning Agreement – students located in China

  1. Technology and Environment
  • Connectivity: A stable Wi-Fi connection is required for active participation.
  • Hardware: Students must use a Laptop or PC for group classes. Mobile phones and tablets are not sufficient for completing written exercises in Tencent Docs during live sessions.
  • Software: We use Classin for live lessons and Tencent Docs for resources.
  • Requirements for Chinese Students: You must have a WeChat or WeCom account to access class materials.
  1. Class Structure and Fees
  • Group Size: Classes are limited to a maximum of six students to ensure personalised support.
  • Pricing: All group classes are £50 per session, billed as a monthly subscription of £200.
  • Inclusions: Your fee includes live tuition, class notes, personalised feedback, scheduled assessments (Christmas and Easter), and a mock IELTS exam at the end of the course (June).
  • Subscription: Payments are automated and taken on the last week of each month. Access to materials and live links is granted only after payment is received.
  • Group Sessions: £50 per person / per session.
  • Individual one-to-one classes are priced at £150 per 1- hour session and must be paid for in advance of the class taking place and are subject to availability. Please contact us here (link)to enquire about availability. 
  • Monthly Commitment: Sessions are billed in monthly blocks (e.g., £200 for 4 group sessions).
  • International Students (outside UK/EU, including China): Payments are processed via Stripe (supporting Alipay and WeChat Pay).
  • Transaction Fee: Please note that for international payments involving currency conversion (e.g., CNY to GBP), a 5% processing fee is added to the total amount to cover secure gateway and exchange costs.
  • Fees are payable in advance for the entire month. An invoice/payment link will be sent by the 25th of the preceding month and must be settled by the 1st of the month in which lessons take place. This guarantees your dedicated time slot in my schedule.
  1. Attendance and Participation
  • Commitment: Language acquisition requires consistency; therefore, a one-month minimum commitment is required.
  • Punctuality: Please log in on time to minimise disruption.
  • Absences: Please provide 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend.
  • Catch-up Policy: Classes are live and not recorded. If you miss a session, you are responsible for reviewing the notes and homework provided on the student dashboard. Fees for missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be carried over.
  1. Refund and Cancellation Policy
  • Subscription Cancellation: To avoid charges for the following month, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • 5-Day Course Guarantee: We offer a 5-day money-back guarantee for specific courses, provided you submit proof of completed coursework and a valid reason.
  • Digital Resources/Masterclasses: These items are non-refundable once access has been granted.
  • 1-to-1 Lessons: Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or receive a refund.
  1. Conduct and Security
  • Behaviour: Respectful conduct is mandatory. We reserve the right to remove students for inappropriate behaviour without a refund.
  • Privacy: Recording classes or sharing account passwords/materials with third parties is strictly prohibited.
  • Communication: Important updates are sent via a “read-only” WeChat group. Private queries can be sent to students@monikabeatty.com or via private WeChat message (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm GMT).

  • Results: While we provide expert guidance, final exam results depend on individual effort and external factors; therefore, specific grades cannot be guaranteed.
  • Accuracy: We strive for error-free materials, but we encourage students to verify information and seek clarification if needed.
